Each country will develop its own criteria, based on the broad criteria which has been developed in partnership with the implementing countries, observer countries and advisors. It is based on the Whole Schools approach championed by UNESCO, which has four areas of action: school governance, teaching and learning, facilities and operations, and community partnerships.

Introducing the Global Search for Sustainable Schools!

Nine countries across the world are coming together to run national competitions that will ask students to submit plans for making their schools sustainable. The winning schools will be given grants to implement their ideas from the beginning of 2020, turning their dreams into reality with the support of experts from their country and around the world.
